Introducing my winter uniform. This outfit, or variations there of, will be my staple during the cold weather. My go to outfit for the days I have "nothing to wear". It is my version of the homeschool mom yoga pants.
I have a handful of plaid skirts. Although I love the Pendleton's they just aren't very comfortable. I'll still wear the ones I have along with my other wool plaids. But I also picked up a couple of these skirts from Lands End. No they are not vintage, rather classic and timeless. I love them-although I might like just a tad more length. Cozy tights and sweaters complete the look and I am ready for winter!
What about you? Do you have a go to look that keeps you from falling into the sweat pants rut?
I came across this post by The Glamourous Housewife. Here she is going to run some errands. Beautiful!

This post right here is why I blog! I had a very tough day and this just warmed my heart at a time of need. Cant wait to see what your dear readers wear.

Both of you look gorgeous in your outfits.
ReplyDeleteI write this as I type on my bed in a pair of yoga capris. *lol*
(It is a guilty pleasure of mine throwing on a pair of stretchy pants an the end of the day.)
When I go out I try and dress up nice.. but alot of the times when I get home it's (Off with the pretty and into the comfy!)
*eeep*
I am currently struggling what to wear at home, i am leaving my full time job and going self employed in the new year and i am just hoping i dont just spend all day in pjs!
ReplyDeleteBut for easy things to wear, just nipping to the shops, i like to wear dresses, here is my newest creation.. http://blog.boobookittycouture.com/2011/11/autumnal-red-outfit-post.html simple and easy to wear, team up with a snuggly cardi and thick tights.
Glamourous Housewife-Yay that makes me happy that it made you happy!
ReplyDeleteVintageCoconut- that's what jammies and yoga pants are for-home. If I didn't need to go out of the house I could live in jammies.
BooBooKitty- I can totally relate!
I did a follow up post and next week I will be posting more on where to find glamorous and comfortable clothing, including loungewear.

I love this outfit-and must say I like the homeschool marm one a lot as well!
ReplyDeleteI tend to wear black cotton dresses, tights and flats as my winter uniform, better than sweats for sure!!
I love this outfit. I never wear yoga pants, but I don't think I dress us so much. I do work from home and I have been through the working in PJs all day, to my shame, however I pulled myself out of that one!
ReplyDeleteI think dressing for yourself is important, whether that is making you feel good, or comfort, whatever is for you is good!
You look so good! I think it's important to stay away from pjs even if you're home alone. You automatically feel so much better with some "normal" clothes on!
ReplyDeleteAre you wearing the Lands End skirt in this picture? I'd like to get a couple but it doesn't clearly show the length on their website.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration!
Since I don't actually own any sweatpants there's very little temptation for me to go out in them! My cold weather uniform last year was my plaid skirt and a sweater (with tights and knee high boots in the really cold weather), to which this year I'm adding my gorgeous capes. I can also see me spending a lot of time in the wool circle skirt I made recently.

I am going out shopping right now to get a plaid skirt. Adorable!
