On a recent sunny day I took Dotty out under our cherry tree. It is beautiful and she loved it. I should have known she would because during Christmas we would place her under our tree. The lights, the ornaments. Wonderful! We love trees and this inspires me to take photos of her with different trees each season. Nature produces the best mobiles! (Although I guess I can't say that about the artificial Xmas tree with glass ornaments.)
The cherry tree in bloom is one of the blossoming trees in our yard right now and can be seen right out the window next to our rocking chair. The wind and rain are here blowing away all the petals and although I hate to see them go it is spectacular to view.
I have a branch from a much loved no longer with us tree and I am getting ready to create a mobile with it to hang near Dotty's bed. Watch for pictures soon!
I hope spring is beautiful where you are.
That's such a good idea using trees as mobiles! So much nicer than a plastic one!
ReplyDeleteI wish spring would hurry up and come to Scotland. It's meant to be spring but we're still getting snow :(

Wow, I love love your idea!! Blossoms as mobiles. Looking so so cute! Lovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Easter weekend! xo
Aww, how perfectly sweet!
ReplyDeleteNo blossoms here yet! It's a wonderful idea, I can see why the beauty of cherry blossoms is much more interesting and alive than the regular mobile. In my experience children always prefer to play with toys that aren't real toys, little feathers, branches, leaves...anything they find really. I'm constantly finding little stones, nuttshells and stuff in my little girl's pockets :), I love that!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog and I love the idea of natural mobiles. Also, you mentioned that your friend has a couple wedding dressed on Etsy? I am on a very tight budget and have been searching for "out of the box" ideas... my new favorite site is Offbeatbride.com. :)Would love for you to send me a link to her dresses though if you wouldn't mind... theolivetree7@hotmail.com. Thanks! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love the cherry blossoms falling off of the trees. My children played under them this weekend, shaking the branches and then running through the petals as they fell. How sweet that Dotty likes them, too!
