If You Have Slept With My Husband Please Do Not Read My Blog
For those of you who have your own blogs do you ever think about the people from your past who may be lurking around your posts? I hadn't, until recently. My husband was contacted by an old girlfriend who found him through me. I am an honest person and write an honest blog so all the sudden I felt intruded upon. Okay, yes, I am mainly thinking of my WW posts where I bare my soul in a swimsuit complete with measurements. Then I got to thinking about who else might be creeping around. I am pretty secure so I refuse to give into the temptation to write with these people in mind. I was just wondering if anyone else feels this way? I also feel I must tell you I have done my share of looking up ex's-mine and his, and being a bit of a lurker myself. I recently saw a picture of an old boyfriend I haven't seen in over 15 years and was a little stunned to see he had a cover up tattoo over my name. Really!? Yep. I also wonder how everyone has gotten so old while I have stayed the same. : ) So there you have it both sides of the coin.

oh yes I often wonder about stuff like that! I try not to be too personal on my blog or write anything I wouldn't be happy with the world knowing, but still some that I too write is quite personal as of course you think of it as you, your readers and the computer but no!!! It freaks me out a bit when I think about it, so I just don't think about it ;o)
ReplyDeleteI've had 3 old boyfriends friend me on facebook, so I always assume they might hop over the the blog too. They were all pretty nice guys---when I see their photos I can't help but notice how little hair they have left, ha ha, and how they've "grown" ha ha. However having the husband's ex contact him would freak me out. I wouldn't change anything that I was writing either.
ReplyDeleteI found an old boyfriend of mine who I had not seen or heard from since I was 15 years old. 30 years later I found him through the internet, he is quite famous in his work as a biblical archeologist and I enjoy reading about his adventures. Not sure how his wife feels about it, but we are so different now...and it is nice to have him as a 'friend'.
ReplyDeleteI too think about this from time to time and it totally creeps me out every time. I am super careful about not giving out info that would make it easy for people to find me and stalk me. There are a lot of unstable people out there...I'm a teacher, I know these things. I also try never to give information about where I might be or what auction I might be at on a certain date..etc. As a teacher, I would hate to have a student or co-worker run across my "other" life...I am different as a professional and prefer to keep my private life secret (not like I'm doing bad things or anything..haha...I just don't want people to know about me like that) I have ex's that do read my blog...I could care less if they do...if anything, I feel sad for them because they continue to torture themselves with how cool I am and the fact that they don't have me any more! hahaha As I see it, my best revenge is living a more awesome life now that they're not in it anymore!

So funny! I have actually had one of Mr. Vincent's old girlfriends find us from our home schooling blog. Lucky for me, I now have a new friend! She is happily married with six kids. (Also, isn't it, keep your friends close and your enemies closer?! hahaha.)
ReplyDeleteWith how connected people are these days, things can get a little weird out there. My husband's ex read my blog and sent me a message giving me un-asked for advice on how to raise my son. How to get him to sleep, how to help him with teething... She doesn't even HAVE a child!
ReplyDeletePeople get bored and go people searching. Sometimes we find friends, sometimes we find ex's, sometimes we find our ex's spouses.
I just wish that people would silently watch and not try to reconnect sometimes. All it does is raise old ghosts or make someone feel intruded upon.
And don't feel weird about pictures of you in a bathing suit, you look good!
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI was reading your blog, and I like it. I would love it if you visited my blog, and if you follow me, I will follow you.
I have a commentary post, would love your opinion, HONEST, with no worries....

My boyfriend's wife reads my blog, his mother says stuff about it and it's a source of gossip with my brother and sister I don't get along with.
ReplyDeleteI don't say anything there I wouldn't say to someone's face, so I don't worry about it too much.
...er I should have said "ex" wife.
ReplyDeleteI'm always nervous about creepers, but then I find myself doing the same. *sigh* and then I worry somehow they'll find out and think I'm a weirdo. I think it's in our nature to be curious, but I would probably get freaked out if an ex contacted me or my husbands ex contacted him.
